Welcome to Deeply Unimportant: a research-based protocol engineered for adult ADHD, OCD, and non-pharmacological insomnia relief. Utilizing the principles of cognitive shuffling, we replace engaging narratives with structured, administrative boredom.
Tonight, submit to the ultimate administrative hierarchy. In this episode we explore the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC), specifically the 000 class encompassing Computer Science, Information, and General Works. From the granularity of object-oriented programming to the climate-controlled vaults of museology, we find comfort in a world where every thought is assigned a decimal and every book has a permanent, unmoving home.
By delivering pure, structured data with total auditory transparency, this session provides a clinical ASMR experience—a “cognitive shunt” to disrupt the patterns of executive dysfunction and rumination. As an alternative to standard sleep meditation, these technical readings bypass the brain’s alertness centers, allowing for a seamless transition into deep, restorative sleep.

I listened to this rendition for a few nights with success! When I first heard it, I enjoyed it too much b/c i found it hilariously funny. But after i talked myself out of taking it literally & just following the numbers while trying to make sense of them “in the stacks” soon i fell asleep.
Thanks for narrating the numbers in this edition of the Dewey Decimal Classification System.
Glad you found humour in it! Hope other episodes work for you, too.
